Through painting, sculpture, and songs from Haitian artists and those of Haitian descent, this documentary challenges stereotypical perceptions of Haiti found throughout the media. It skillfully highlights relevant history and illustrates the diversity that exists in the Haitian arts by showcasing the work of artists from different backgrounds-some well-known, some not. Different schools of thought in Haitian painting are implicitly explained and enjoyed.
