Hawaii’s island of Kauai is known for its dramatic natural surroundings, and the Simmons family heads out to see it all. They board a boat up the Wailua River to the fabulous Fern Grotto where water drips from upside-down plants at one of the wettest places on earth. Then they check out the salt beds and cross a swinging bridge in the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, Waimea Canyon. Heading off the beaten path over the bridges of Kauai’s north shore past Hanalei, they end up at the base of the Na Pali Coast where Ke’e beach offers the perfect spot to check out Kauai’s marine life, including sea turtles.
