This documentary explores the different motivations for getting up in the morning to go to work. Why do we join one company rather than another? For some of us, the main driver is the work environment; for others, it’s about the task itself, or even the mission. In the end, we all deserve to find a job that suits us and to enjoy what we do.
Through a journey in the US, Germany, Portugal, France, and the UK, and by meeting companies of all sizes and sectors, Sam discovers a positive vision of work.
On the agenda, is a three-step reflection on our relationship to work within companies and our different drivers:
● The How: We want a great work environment, colleagues who become friends, to learn new things, to enjoy benefits granted by the company, flexibility…
● The What: We also want to do things we enjoy! The task itself is important, as much as the way we do it. An interesting journey in the values of craftsmanship: autonomy, creativity, and responsibility!
● The Why: If we’re going to work five days a week, eight hours each day, we want to do something meaningful. The mission of the company we join and to which we contribute is key.
At the sight of all these beautiful stories, the viewers may find their life as an employee very dull. But the documentary is above all a toolbox, a set of proposals and calls to question employers.
