Trevelyan, who runs a clinic on the ground floor of Blessington’s apartments has noticed his landlord’s increasing agitation after reading a newspaper article. So paranoid that he greets Holmes and Watson with a pistol in his hand, Blessington nevertheless refuses to answer their questions candidly.
