Description:

Denali, which was once called Mount McKinley, is North America's highest peak. At its towering glacier-clad summit elevation of 6,190 meters above sea level, the temperature is 30 degrees below zero Celsius even in the middle of the summer. The conditions at the top of this peak are so extreme, it's claimed the lives of a few explorers who dare climb it. In 2016, Daisuke Sasaki, a Japanese climber and skier, embarked on an extraordinary undertaking: a one-push ski descent down Cassin Ridge, located on the southwest face of Denali. The steep slope drops directly down into a valley. This documentary follows Sasaki on his journey and features inclines of up to 55 degrees, deep and gaping crevasses, and avalanches tumbling rapidly down the slopes. The story of a man who made a record success in the world of big-mountain skiing, this documentary contains a series of suspenseful scenes that make up his adventure into the magnificent mountain and the breathtaking descent. Viewers will realize how deeply the impulse for exploration dwells in the human spirit, and Sasuki's sporting spirit will spark their sporting blood.
