Fiction
No. Of Words: 12,028
Synopsis:

I suppose that you could call this a book of poetry.  The words were written with a certain rhythm and rhyme - most of the time.  And I further suspect that if you ask more than one person what their opinion is, you'll probably get a different answer, so let me clear the air on this right up front.  When I wrote these pages I called them poems, but after a number of years, and some emotional turmoil, I have decided that they are really stories that, in most cases, just happen to rhyme.  I even came up with a good rationale.  It's neat.  Not necessarily neat as in, "Way cool, Man!" but neat in terms of getting my point across with the fewest number of words.  The book is divided into three parts; life, love and laughter.  Each part contains several stories, and each story takes a look at a slice of humanity - stories that will touch the hearts of young and old alike.

Author Bio:

'When you see that time is racing

past the dreams that you've been chasing,

and you find that all you're facing is 'being old'.

"I think, like many of us born in the 40's and 50's, these words are beginning to strike home.  Still, when I left my parents' little farm in New England in 1968 to join the Navy, I had no idea of what lie ahead.  It's been one fantastic journey.  I'm not complaining about getting old, though.  I'm having too much fun for that.  There's just so much more that I want to do."

Jim Corbin was born before the cultural revolution of the 60's. His writing relates the hopes and dreams of his generation, often contrasting them with the hopes and dreams of this one.  He writes life as he sees it; with compassion, a deep and abiding love for his country, and respect for his fellow man.
